General InformationHarris Georgiou received his B.Sc. degree in Informatics from University of Ioannina, Greece, in 1997, and his M.Sc. degree in Digital Signal Processing & Computer Systems and Ph.D. degree in Pattern Recognition & Medical Imaging, from National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, in 2000 and 2009, respectively. Since 1998, he has been with the Department of Informatics & Telecommunications at National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. He has been actively involved in several national and EU-funded research & development projects, focusing on new and emerging technologies in medical imaging and applications. He has also worked in the private sector as a consultant in Software Engineering and Quality Assurance (EDP/IT), as well as a professor in various ICT-related subjects, for many years. His main research interests include Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition, Signal Processing, Medical Imaging, Soft Computing and Game Theory. He has published more than 40 peer-reviewed papers and has given several technical presentations in various countries. Main Research Areas
